Limbo

Limbo is alluring, sexy, humorous, and an inevitably a sad story in which Tim Townsend, a psychotic deaf man, is on trial for murder in pre-Katrina New Orleans.

The intense stress of the trial along with Tim’s refusal to take his medication triggers bizarre visions and episodes of traumatic escape. Tim’s unusual travels begin with the on-set of a hallucinatory circus in New Orleans that quickly toggles into the imaginary worlds of Altro Luogo, the home of a group of creatures called The Virtues, and O’cean, the air and water world of a flamboyant God-like fish named Feather-fish.

In these fictionalized worlds, Tim, with the aid of his new friends, searches for hope, redemption, and absolution, while his nemeses, Mr. Darwin Blackwell, with his army of reckless reporters, transpire to avenge the murder of Blackwell’s only son, Billy.

The story culminates with a dramatic twist when Tim’s makes a capricious decision in the dark turbulent bowels of Hurricane Katrina.

D’lo & the Mad Mule Introduction

D’lo & the Mad Mule

Is, hopefully, an interesting, informative, and perhaps humorous, blog for fellow writers of all genres. D’lo & The Mad Mule is a writing process for new writers, as well as seasoned veterans wanting to brush up on their creative skills.

D’lo will attempt to present a process for imaginative writing. The system, in part, is based on writing intuitively using the sentient mind as a guide. We hope that this blog will provide a process where-by greater satisfaction can be realized in your creative work.

What? I know it’s weird.

Think of the Mad Mule as a process in creative writing. Ok, now think of yourself, like D’lo, as the muleteer, the cognitive person-the administrator, got it-

What the muleteer is steering is a large long-eared, sometimes stubborn, free associative animal, we call the Mad Mule. The process at times, may be a challenging, but I can say with confidence, that with practice and determination the results will be highly rewarding.

We call this type of creative process, Plowing.
That’s it!

Join D’lo & the Mad Mule in an adventure. I know your mule is kicking in the stall.

She’s restless; let her go, open the door to your imaginative writing. Create a poem, or book. Create another world.

Do you want to be a Muleteer? Get your mule let’s plow.
